HailBound Terms of Service
Last updated: October 15, 2026
About these terms
HailBound is provided by Seth Major, using the developer name MajoRiver Labs. These terms cover your use of the app and supporting services. By using them, you agree to these terms. Contact support@hailbound.com with questions. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
Weather information and limits
HailBound provides radar-derived hail estimates, storm history and separately labeled reports. Radar estimates can differ from hail observed on the ground. A reported point describes a report, not the full storm footprint or independently verified damage. Mapped areas and address results do not prove hail fell, a building was damaged, or a particular repair or insurance outcome will follow.
Data can be delayed, incomplete, unavailable or corrected. HailBound is not an official emergency-warning service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NOAA or the National Weather Service. Use official weather warnings and appropriate on-site inspection. Do not rely on this app alone for safety, travel, insurance or property-damage decisions.
Accounts and appropriate use
Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and use a separate account for each person. The current service allows one active mobile device per account; signing in on a replacement device can sign out the previous device. A team seat is for one person and is not permission to share a login.
Use the service lawfully. Do not access another person’s account, bypass subscription/seat restrictions, abuse invitations or referrals, disrupt the service, or attempt unauthorized bulk extraction of private data. We may restrict access when reasonably needed for security, abuse prevention, payment status or compliance.
Plans, trials and billing
The Android app offers Individual monthly/annual plans and Team monthly plans where available. Google Play checkout shows the actual price, currency, tax, eligibility, billing period and renewal terms before you confirm. An advertised introductory offer lasts only for its stated period; later renewals use the disclosed regular price. A free trial, when offered and eligible, converts to paid billing unless canceled before it ends.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Google Play. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal; access for the already paid period follows the store’s terms and verified subscription status. Refund eligibility is governed by applicable law and the store’s refund process. HailBound does not promise a cash refund or account credit for every plan change.
Where the app offers an owned Individual-to-Team upgrade, Google Play confirms the replacement and prorated charge. Existing Team seat changes are scheduled for renewal when shown that way in the app. Joining another owner’s team does not automatically cancel your own Individual subscription; manage its renewal in Google Play to avoid overlapping payments. Account deletion, signing out and uninstalling do not cancel store subscriptions.
Teams and referrals
Team seat limits include the owner. The owner manages the subscription, available seats and invitations. Each member signs in with the invited email and their own credentials. Team Pro access depends on the team’s verified active subscription. Leaving, removal, owner deletion, team closure, expiration or revocation can end Team access. Other independently valid access may remain.
Referral rewards follow the eligibility and reward amount displayed in the app and require verified qualifying paid purchases. Trials, Team purchases, self-referrals, duplicate accounts, refunds and abuse may be ineligible or require review. A pending reward does not itself grant access or guarantee that a billing adjustment has completed. We can correct errors and withhold or reverse rewards where permitted when their qualifying conditions are not met.
Alerts, availability and support
Alerts depend on monitored areas, thresholds, permissions, valid access, server/SDK delivery and device settings. Quiet hours can suppress notifications without replay. Sound and delivery can be delayed, suppressed or changed by Android settings, network conditions and providers. No alert or sound is guaranteed, and receiving none does not establish that an area is safe or hail-free.
Features and data coverage may change or be unavailable for maintenance, provider outages or other operational reasons. General support is available by email and through the signed-in support form; Pro users can also submit bug reports and feature requests. Submitting a suggestion does not guarantee that it will be implemented. Do not include passwords or payment details in a message.
Content and responsibility
HailBound’s branding, software and original presentation remain the property of their respective owners. Map, weather and reported-event information is subject to its source attribution and applicable provider terms. Using the app does not transfer ownership of its software or third-party content.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted access, complete data or suitability for a particular job. We are not responsible for losses caused by treating an estimate as proof of hail or damage, or relying on alerts as emergency warnings. These terms do not exclude rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending use and updates
You can stop using the app, cancel subscriptions in Google Play and delete your account. These are separate actions. Relevant payment, security, dispute and data-retention provisions can continue to apply after account closure. We may update these terms as the service changes; the date above identifies this version. Contact support@hailbound.com if you need help.
